Discover your 2021 Word of the Year!

This year whooped my ass, but I’m okay with it.

I was faced with mental and physical challenges that later aided my clarity for life itself.

It took a lot of intentional decision making, meditation, and reflection to arrive at a breakthrough, but thankfully I arrived!

My 2020 Word

For good ole 2020, my word was intentional.

This word tested me, but I was up for the challenge. I learned you can’t be intentional if you are not self-aware. I thought I was very much so awake until I discovered I wasn’t.

Being intentional is easier said than done because it breaks up your norm and more often than not met with resistance.
If intentional will be your word in 2021, take it slow, weigh pros and cons for decisions, be honest with yourself in each moment.

Remember the goal is not to be perfect but to gain better control over your particular word.

Choosing your word

In choosing a word for 2021, think of something you want to focus on within yourself for an entire year.

Think of something you desire to give others.
When considering others in your word, you will ultimately feed yourself the same energy.

What you give out will return to you. You also discover that what you desire for others is most times what you desire for yourself.

Check out the 3 steps below to assist on your quest for creating your word for 2021.

3 steps to pick your
Word of the Year:

Reflection.

Take a good look at yourself and the past year you’ve had. Think of the changes you would like to see in the world. Reflect on the things you have discovered about yourself.

The time we spend with ourselves reveals so much of what we have, what we need, and what we deserve. Is there something you want to focus on for your personal growth?

List out your potential words.

While acknowledging what you discover during your reflection, write down words as they come to you. Take note of the similar words you come across as they could very well be your word. Listen to your instincts. What would you like to focus on that could take you to a higher level?

Some top words are: Intentional, Resilient, Consistency, Grace, Forgiveness

Review your list and select a word

Ohhh, it’s time to pick one! Picking one word allows you to focus on one thing and implement it in everyday life. It’s easier to transform one focus at a time.

In review, ask yourself these questions to help make your decision easier
(remember, don’t think too hard about it):

  • Which word would serve as an aid in accomplishing your 2021 goals?
  • Which word makes you feel powerful and inspired?
  • What weakness do you see in yourself that could use more attention in the New Year?
  • Which word could serve a large part of your everyday life in 2021?

Answering these questions should help you get a good idea of what your word could be.

The word you choose should motivate you throughout your day, push you beyond the surface, and produce a habit you’re proud of.

After you choose one, journal about it. Set your intentions for it, visualize what it will look like. I also recommend writing it or posting the word up somewhere you could see it every day!

My 2021 Word of the Year!

For 2021, my word will be Awareness!

During my breakdown to the breakthrough, I became aware of myself. However, I don’t ever want to lose this again. So, I will work on this intentionally throughout my everyday life activities to master it.

To me, being aware of self is the ultimate prime ticket to being happy and dispersing it into the world!

We need more happy people in the world. I’m ok with stepping up to the plate. So, if you see me in the streets spreading joy… don’t mind your business, come join me!

Thank you for rocking with me this year!

Can you believe Live Happi Girl will be 1 year old on January 2nd?(crying happi tears.)
This has been great!

Happy New Year! I’ll see ya on the other side so we can continue our journey to happiness!

I was faced with mental and physical challenges that later aided my clarity for life itself…….I’m glad you were able to learn and gain understanding through your challenges, as we should. Challenges are necessary. Challenges are also recurring. I’m so confident in believing your next “challenge”, will be easier, because you have been equipped with more tools and understanding. I also like the idea of a “word” to focus on for the year. I’ll be meditating on what mine shall be. Thanks and I love your blog. Keep it up!
