I am deeply hurt by the videos of racist white people targeting and/or killing my people. Like, how could someone be so inhumane? My mind races as I think of the world we live in today where a slap on the wrist is good enough for a white person who has committed murder. Black families are being BROKEN repeatedly simply for the color of our skin and nothing is being done about it. Video, after video, reveals the proof needed for a conviction. So, what’s going on? How many times does this have to happen for someone to recognize there’s a deeper issue that needs to addressed? How many times must we March, protest, hold up signs… try to drill into the minds of those who should be protecting us… to do just that-Protect us!
The imagery of pain, suffering, and loss of hope floods my timeline and disrupts everything; this is not right. It’s near impossible to heal mentally from the last killing before another one surfaces. I have a black husband, black uncles, black nephews, black friends & family, and black neighbors whom I care about and worry about. Forget the Coronavirus for a minute, RACISM is killing us! There is something MORE lethal out there – the hands of a white man that continues to be cleaned or dusted off and sent back out to “play” as if nothing happened.
I have white friends that have reached out and used their voice to express their support. I can count on my white friends to STAND UP, just as I would step up for them. This isn’t about one race getting this right. We all have to stand together and do what needs to be done to see a change. This world can be a better place and I pray I’m alive to see it happen one day.
I vow to stand up, speak up, walk up, and let my voice be heard that this is NOT ok. We need action, NOW. We need justice, NOW. We need prosecution for my brothers and sisters continuously targeted because
their skin has melanin.
Let us be intentional with our voices!
It could save a life!

I am hoping for resolve
I must. That’s why I started this blog… we can’t live a happy and intentional life if we remain silent and do nothing while our people around us are hurting. The heart doesn’t sit well with that. I’m hopeful there will be something done to bring about a resolution
